In My Daughter's Eyes

by Phoebe   Mar 28, 2006

She turns out the light, and folds up her wings,
Lays on her side, as the alarm clock rings,
She hides from the shadows, she hides from her dreams,
She tries to ignore, her pain inside as it screams.

And if I try to save her,
I'd need an Axe to break down those walls,
I'd need to protect her as it falls,
I'd have to help her through it all.

She walks down the hallways, hiding her face,
Nobody can see the tears as they pour down in disgrace,
She tugs down her sleeves, ashamed of her scars,
She suffers in silence for countless hours.

And if I try to help her,
I'd have to get through the gates,
Have to hold her as the sunlight waits,
Try to stop the pain she awaits.

She's such a beautiful girl,
To see her smile is a gift,
She makes spirits lift,
Her heart is swift.
But she's alone again,
Taken over by pain.

And if I try to talk to her,
She just casts me far away,
She doesn't need me anyway,
She tells it to me everyday.

She hides in the darkness, alone by the door,
Curls up and lays her fragile head on the floor,
She just couldn't take the pain she felt anymore,
She wasn't as strong as she has been before,
She'll cry and cry until her eyes get sore.

She wouldn't be helped, she suffered alone,
She had to cope with the pain she was thrown.
