Scapegoats

by emiLy A.   Mar 29, 2006

I am wasting my life away
I wish i was something more than this.
My life will not end today,
I could be so much more than this.
I will not allow myself to surrender
To the current propaganda
I am your scapegoat,
But I'd rather be that than a follower.
Born into the core of a fruit so rotten,
I am the revolution
My name will not be forgotten.
Caved in by my own
Depression and rage
I will find a way to escape the pain of these days
Nothing i do or say can make you care
But i can make your life too much to bare.
I will not end my life this way
I will get better and get strong
I don't care about those who doubt me,
And those who do not believe
I've cared for too much for too long,
It's time to pack up and leave.

Strong emotion comes through in this poem. I don't know if you intended this to rhyme but I found it disrupted the flow somewhat.
However, your choice of words is great ad the subject is always topical.
    Good try.
