TOM (MISCARRIAGE)

by Debra Kenny   Mar 29, 2006

It would have been nice to see your face
To hold you close and be amazed
At your perfect features, your tiny face
Your little fingers that tightly embrace

It would have been nice to meet you babe
But nature had other plans

I would love to have seen your very first smile
And your first attempts to crawl the mile
I would dearly have loved to hear your laugh
And to splash and scream when you played in the bath

All of these things I would like to have seen
But nature had other plans

I feel so robbed of your tiny life
To see you grow and become man or wife
To see you a parent with kids of your own
To see you an adult with your own happy home

These things were never meant to be
Nature had other plans for me

So farewell sweetheart, you won't be forgot
I will always have a very warm spot
Inside my heart that will always stay
And the hope that we will meet one day

I so much wanted to be your mum
But nature had other plans
