The Struggle

by Briana   Mar 29, 2006

Screams echo across the sky
The dark, misty, troubled sky
Fear and uncertainty fill the air
The light, chilling, nippy air
Who goes there?

Powerful noises gradually amplify
Each second is another step
Each step is another gasp of breath
Until the speed picks up

Quickly, flee to a place on your own
Don't stop, continue to press on
Faster and faster and faster
Until the raging dispute is finally won

When darkness dwells within
Don't let the iron walls cave in
Take hold, grab on to
Your sanity instead

Dreams seem a mile away
You're getting weak, you're getting weary
But one stop will cease everything
And corrupt you in the end

Find solace in your strengths
Let them caress you in your struggle
Allow your thoughts to flutter beyond despair
And rejoice in the hope that lies ahead
Victory is possible
