Why must I suffer, so he can shine?
Why must I deal with all the trials and tribulations,
So he can do just fine?
I go through all of this shit for him,
So I must love him,
For his blood is mixed with mine.
He knows I am there for him,
And I have the hardest job in the world,
Why canâ??t he just appreciate it a little bit more?
Because I am tired of this,
I am almost through the door,
Into man hood,
And I have only my life lessons,
I pave the way for him,
To get to being a man,
No one did shit for me.
If you are an older sibling,
You will know what I mean,
Having some one there for us,
Is really only a dream,
A fantasy that we have from time to time,
Therefore I ask again,
Why must I suffer, in order for him to shine?
This poem is dedicated to my younger brother, Sean
