Fix the Mess

by Simon   Mar 30, 2006

When the cold wind blows
And winter snows
Everything seems so unreal
The only thing to feel
Is to wonder
At the blunder
Of the guys who are messing it up

God gave us the world
Told us to give it a whirl
Instead we took it and ran
We ignored the ban
We ate the fruit
But all that did was let fear take root

As if that wasn't enough
We thought we'd be tough
If we tore apart god's gift
We tear up the world just to get an easier lift

We turned our backs
Focused on our lacks
When he gave us everything we need
To succeed

He gave us the key
But we broke the lock
And then blamed him when everything went wrong

We turned our backs
Focused on our lacks
When he gave us everything we need
To succeed

So what we need to do right now
Is get on our knees and pray
For him to tell us how
To do things his way

Ask forgiveness
That's our only chance
To fix the mess
