Dear Mr. President.

by Katie.   Mar 30, 2006

Dear President Bush,

How are you this fine day?
Are you feeling quite alright?
Are you sure you're okay?
What are you thinking as I write?

My cousin isn't happy.
He's can not even blink.
He can't get sick anymore.
He can no longer think.

I want to make sure you realize
How unhappy this country is.
You may hear all you want from the news,
But buddy thats mostly all show-biz.

My cousin was already a proud member
Of the United States Marines.
He walked around with a glowing pride.
He constantly bragged about the machines.

Then we declared "war" on Iraq.
War is such an undefined term.
You seem to think it means killing our soldiers,
For a purpose that has yet to be confirmed.

My cousin was uncertain of his purpose,
But he stuck by his country through and through.
He went where you sent him, into the war.
His heart was always true.

My cousin died last week.
He was on patrol when a bomb hit his jeep.
He was immediately pronounced dead.
13 other soldiers were lost in the sweep.

Not until that fateful moment
Have I thought about this stupid war.
Why are you concerned in other countries?
Whose country are you really for?

The USA needs desperate help.
We worry about other places
While our own people die from hunger daily.
You say they're totally different cases.

But did my cousin die for no purpose?
Was he just a pawn in your plan?
Because I swear to God Mr. President,
I will get back at you however I can.

If I ever saw you in the streets
I'd attack you at full force.
With tears streaming down my face,
I would murder my pain's source.

You are the reason my cousin is dead,
The reason that thousands suffer.
You've done enough damage, just step down!
Well guess what Mr. President, there are people who are tougher.

There is nothing stronger
Then a person seared by pain
A person who wants revenge
From you using their child for gain.

Anger flows through my blood
As I write this very letter,
And dear Mr. President,
Nothing you do could make it better.

I hate you more then anything.
You ruined this country with your ugly war.
You're the reason for my cousin's death
And I want to settle the score.

You deserve the most horrible death.
For you caused thousands to die.
I hope you are proud of what you've done,
Forcing others to listen to your lies.

I'm not sure I can make this letter any more blunt,
But I hope you will simply die.
I loved my cousin so unbelievable much,
And it's YOUR fault that I didn't get to say goodbye.
