After Laughter

After Laughter

After laughter,
There are still tears I cry.
Being without you,
Makes me want to die.
Sitting here,
You left me in the dark.
Tears fall down my face,
You left without a remark.

After laughter,
There is still pain inside.
Being without you,
Makes me have to hide.
Waiting here,
For you to come back.
I know it's worthless,
But your lovin' I lack.

After laughter,
There is still your heart I hold.
Remember that time,
You said together, we'd grow old.
Standing here,
In the shadow's of the night.
Begging for your love,
With no strength left to fight.

After laughter,
These tears will fall.
My life without you,
Is nothing at all.
So please come back to me,
Put your love in my hands.
I promise that I'll love you,
And with pride, I will stand.

After laughter,
nothing is left, not even my pride.
I feel so dark,
And empty on the inside.
You took away my soul,
You captured my heart.
I'm left here with nothing at all,
But a broken ending, and a new start.

Just as there is a rainbow after the storm, there is laughter after tears. Heidi, you have beautifully portrayed this vivid image of the dark side, where there are tears after laughter.... superb.
