Snowfall and tears

I'm hoping
for the snow
they're predicting.
I'll try hard
not to watch the snowfall
and allow
my mind to wander...
to recall another time
another snowfall...
when fantasies
occupied the mind
of a little girl
with a tear-stained face
who desperately loved
a charmingly poetic
older boy
just a mile or so away...
who adored
her older sister.
