Which Way Will It Go?

by Blacksand   Apr 1, 2006

Once I was but a small child,
no consequences, just running wild.
But, that is past and far away,
why could life not stay that way.

No job and no bills just a free soul to roam,
only worries were bed time, and when to be home.
Now all that's replaced with longing and toil,
and the wish for your body to lay cold under soil.

Just what is our problem, what makes life so hard?
Every person on Earth lives on wounded and scarred.
I know life is tough, that is not what I fear,
What I'm scared of is what's going to happen from here.

It could be that someone will punch in the code,
then sit back and just wait for the world to explode.
Or it could be that science will find the right keys,
and free us from defects, old age, and disease.

How will the end come, there is no way to know,
it could be quite glum, or maybe a big show.
One way or another it will all have to end,
so just hope when it comes you'll fly away with the wind.
