A New Vision

by Monique Seidler   Apr 2, 2006

I look at myself
and I see a blank space--
one that is lonely
and has lost all it's grace.
I hold out my hands
and I see nothing there--
just creases and lines.
What was once filled is bare.
I watch other kids--
so controlling so cool.
How you have to be
if you go to my school.
I use to be one
in the popular crowd,
until they found out
that I'm quiet, not loud.
Now all I have left
are the thoughts in my head,
and most of the time
they're on paper--unread.
