The child you ignored...

by Latasha   Apr 3, 2006

Why did you have sex if you weren't ready to be a man?
It must've been another one of your jokes,
Was I not that important for you to just leave.
I don't know your face to pick you out in a crowd,
Your my dad I should know you better then anyone else,
But you don't care you have a daughter.
You don't even know my name or what I look like,
I could be a super model or on t.v. and you wouldn't even know it was me.
My face is just a face in the crowd you choose to ignore,
I wish I could hold you close and tell you I love you,
But I'm just person you don't know.
Is your life better with out me?
Am I just a burden to your perfect life?
I hope you live in regret for not taking time to get to know me,
I know one day you'll be sorry,
But maybe all this has made me a better person.
I've forgiven you for abandoning me,
I love you unconditionally,
Your my father after all,
But one day you'll see the beautiful young lady I became,
And a tear will fall from your cheeks as you realize you made a mistake not being the father I needed you to be.

WOW! That is so deep! I can totaly relate. My dad had an affair and my mom left him when I was like only 1 year old. and now even though I know him, he hurt me so bad 2 years ago, that I haven't seen him since.
Well if you ever need anything I'm here.

    Lots of Love,
