My Thoughts

When I look at the night sky
And I see the stars,
I think of you and know
That you are thinking of someone else.

I want you to know that
The someone you think of is dear to me,
I would never want to do anything
That could spoil our friendship.

But you must know
That no matter how hard I try to forget,
My thoughts are always upon you
Although I haven't mentioned it before.

I'm telling you now
That you are all I wish for,
I know you're not mine
Even thought I want you to be.

Why was I too afraid of the truth?
How come I never told you before?
Why can't I admit it even now?
My mind and heart contradict eachother.

I need to tell you how I feel
I need to let you know soon,
For even though you are now taken
I must know if there ever were any returned feelings.

I want you to know that
I think of you day and night.
Thoughts of you,
Swept away by the wind.
