Rummy at 3am (lyrics, bout a teenage girls struggle)

by LostHopesCrimsonTears   Apr 5, 2006

She dropped outta school
'cause she couldn’t deal with the stress
she didn’t belong
her life was a mess

thought maybe if she could get away from it all
she could start over new
but little did she know...

[chorus]
she never dreamed her life would turn out like this
when she was just a little girl
Singin along to patsy cline
n playin rummy with her grandmother

now that little girl is all but lost
and her grandmas not far behind
had a stroke bout 5 or 6 years ago
might as well be dead
'cause you can tell she aint in her right mind

a year out of school she calls up an old friend
wishes her happy birthday
they talk about how long its been.
her friend passes off the phone
to some girl she knows named Beth
they get to talkin’ never realizing how it'll end

before she even knows it
she’s completely taken in
Breakin’ all the rules
she’s engaged to a 15 yr old catholic school girl

{chorus}

just a little girl is all it took
to show her the meaning of true love
a "Jesus freak" n a "skater boi"
she really was somethin' else.
but no one understood it
just as soon blamed her
never thought such an innocent catholic girl
could get into somethin’ like this.

two years later now
she’s sittin’ all alone
got into some trouble n had to move back home
beth’s mother didn’t like the relationship she had
called the cops said she had hit her,
she tried to fight it, but they threatened her with rape charges,
after all Bethany was still a minor..
guess they don’t care she’s the one who had to say stop.
they all saw an innocent little girl...but, boy were they wrong.

{chorus}

figures all it took to tear them apart,
after all they stayed together through
was just one man whom she'd fallen for,
she gave him her heart, but worse, her trust
took off one day, without a single word
moved right next-door to Beth, next thing she hears, he'd raped her

now beth's 4 months pregnant , with some skizto @ssholes kids.
and she threw away everything she had, 'cause she trusted him again.
he told her it was just a misunderstanding, and Beth admitted she never said "no"
but how could she have been so blind, after all
he'd lied to her time after time.
sure enough, once she was hooked again, he dropped her like a piece of trash
aint hear from him since then.
Beth said she'd had enough
couldn’t take the games anymore
no last " love you"
figured it best she just left.

[chorus redone]
she never dreamed that this could happen to her
when she was just a little girl
like a lifetime movie, its all fallin' apart
no more 3am card games with grandma

she’s lost herself along the way
don’t even visit her grama no more
cant stand the family that turned her away
she might as well be dead
'cause you can tell she aint in her right mind
