Splendour of A Thunderstorm

by Simon Hayes   Apr 5, 2006

Lightning hits a flowered green,
Pretty flowers can be seen.
Evil roars can be heard
By every little fleeting bird.

Raindrops falling from the skies.
A thunderstorms greatest disguise.
Rumbles flatten all the sound
Fading as they hit the ground.

Illuminate sky of pink and grey.
An incredibly beautiful, lighting display.
Forks of light surround the trees,
Followed by an Almighty breeze.

Umbrellas mingle in the street.
Wind and rain so hard to beat.
Soon the sun shall shine some more,
Brightening the day just like before.

I adore this poem! Not only does it give you a beautiful picture in your head of something that is generally known as horrible, but it looks gorgeous to the eye as well. (I think I said that right) But anyways, I hope you caught the jest of what I meant. Lovely poem. Personally, I LOVE thunderstorms; they are incredible and I don't see how someone could hate them. But if I were one of those people, after reading this poem I would definately not be scared anymore =D
