His Mistake

by belladrunk   Apr 7, 2006

She only just met him,
They had only just spoke,
But already she had fallen,
fallen for his joke.

He was playing games
And she hadn't got a clue.
She would end up hurt
But this she never knew.

Deeper and deeper she was falling
And he knew he'd gone to far.
He called her that night
Took her for a drive in his car.

For hours they drove in silence
He didn't know what to do.
Then the girl spoke,
"I...I think i love you"

Still the boy sat in silence
For a year he had played his game
But now she had showed her true love
things would never be the same.

He turned onto a dirty, off road track
which he knew led to the cliff.
Drove right to the edge
And tightened his grip.

"get out of the car"
He ordered and handed her a note.
"please dint read it until I'm gone
and please didnt give up hope"

"WAIT" the girl screamed
as he started up the car
"I DONT UNDERSTAND,
WE HAVE COME THIS FAR"

"for a year" The boy replied
"Ive been playing a game"
"I'm sorry to tell you this,
but i just didn't love you the same"

The girl broke down in tears
"HOW COULD YOU TREAT ME THIS WAY?"
"I did it for a joke" he said
"to see what the guys would say."

"YOU D.I.C.K, I HATE YOU" she screamed
then turn and fled
Just then he pushed the pedal
and drove off the edge.

When the girl heard of his death
She remembered the note,
She opened it up
And in it he had wrote.

"Until today i never knew"
"I never knew just how much i loved you"

"game or no game
I knew from the start"
"Ill love him forever,
He'll always be in my heart"

For days she cried
She only wanted his love
Now he had gone
She had had enough

she ran outside
With a knife in her hand
Looked up to the sky
"Your the only one who understands"

Later she was found
his note by her side
under his handwriting it read
"I knew that he had lied"

It seemed he had driven her to suicide
but this was not the case
it was him she still loved,
And without him life she could not face.
