Caring til it hurts

by ~Amy~   Apr 8, 2006

A stream of tears, heavy breaths and swolen eyes
Until the constant grieving makes you numb
Beyond the fears and unexpected surprise
Accepting the pain to which you have succumb
I stand here dealing out what love i can
Hoping to start the healing with my token
But there is a limit to what i can withstand
What spirit within remains will soon be broken
I will lend of you my time at no expense
Though saddening it is to hear your sorrow
To my heart this brings much consequence
For as you\\\'ve suffered i do, even now
I\\\'m no one to say i understand
I cannot steal your pain
Nor can i begin to comprehend
But do not take my outreached hand in vain
All that is for me is to sympathize
For all i see consumes this pityful heart
In the glow of happiness may u find your prize
While all around you worlds are torn apart!

*please do not think this poem is another poem about how sad life is, this is a poem about the pain in caring about others and hearing about their sadness, and wanting to help them so much, but knowing that by doing so, you\\\'re own heart is breaking... this poem is about love (the kind that hurts)***
