Afloat

by magnifico   Apr 8, 2006

With lies I have lived with through an eternity,
the winds of doubt endlessly sweeping trough me.
I have come to realize that you alone are a mystery,
and like the tides of forever, you would remain endless within me.
Depth can never be defined,
and as such I have lived guessing all through my life.
I have come to pursue my dreams for you and me,
I have come to try to live a life that could set us free,
but in ways so careful, you've shown me how you refuse,
and the only love within me, to the pain, has gotten used.
I am invincible now; the lessons life tried to teach me made me so strong.
The places I have longed to see, but it is only in you that I belong.
Now time and space separates a lover from a love grown weary and cold,
a love that I tried to make pure, as pure as virgin and untouched gold,
has now left me with mere traces, footprints of what used to be, I live with a million faces, but none, like you, belongs to me.
