Idiots of Today

Every other song or poem,
they say the same thing here,
what if I could be someone else?
Bombarded by their fake tears.

What if we realized who we are,
and that there's no one else to be,
what if there was a way to show,
and to help those ones see?

Those ones who are so lucky,
they say why can't that be me?
I ask them slightly different things,
who do you want to be?

If you is all you know,
how do you know who they really are?
How do you that they're not sad,
how do you know there's no tar?

Where are all these lies from?
Where is all the pain so known,
why do people yearn to live another,
if they only know one home?

There is no one but yourself,
I know this for sure,
there's no one there to help you or to be,
there is no secret far lure.

There is no one but you see,
there is no one to ever live in hope,
cry at night and wake up happy,
it's pretty easy to cope.

If you're the only one you know.
