Relive

by Danielle   Apr 10, 2006

That moment, I can relive
Over and over, repeatedly
Though it hurts me deeply inside,
That moment, you said I'm sorry

You walked out after our fight,
I went to search for you in vain,
I wanted to make everything right
Because I never wish you pain.

When you came back, and sat,
On that iron hardback chair,
I moved in front to meet your eyes,
But they looked elsewhere.

I muttered my apologies
There was no reply, nothing you say
I was scared, damn scared,
I felt you were far, so far away.

You put your face in your hands,
Your body shuddered, in agony,
I was shocked, and I cried,
"Babe, I am ever so sorry"

Holding me in your strong arms,
You said these words "I'm a bad man"
I rejected but then you added,
"I cant love you more than a friend"

Because you were crying, I kissed
And, hugged, never wanting to be apart
"Everything will be fine", I lied,
Everything, except for my broken heart.
