Vanquished Hope

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 10, 2006

With accurate precision they laid the stone
Brick by brick erected the framework's bone
The sweat of thousands clung to rock
The secrets they learned became their lock
Month by month they toiled without hope
Dwindling members dangled by a vast rope
Eventually the palace stood tall and proud
The spires proclaiming with vision so loud
Upon the pennants flew the banners of old
With a mighty fist borne by a king bold
A warrior king with his armies of man
Swept across to slaughter his slaves on land
No secrets they knew would ever be learned
The darkness pressing as the cities burned
A reign of evil has ascended in power
Under a flag of darkness does the world cower

Haunting. amazing. the only thing is the rhyme of learned and land. but the whole thing is very good. nice job!
