Wraith

by ShadowDancer   Apr 11, 2006

Each day an alarm brings her back to the world
She murmurs as her dreams flee her mind
She moves dully through the house
A transparent wraith, flitting, drifting

Corridors of blurred figures
She walks slowly, sluggish
As hazy faces pass her by
Her eyes downcast, always

The corners of her mouth
Tugging down, never up
Her eyes bright with
Salt water tears

Friends she has none
Acquaintances
Those she has many
But none she can really talk to

Her mind runs in circles
Over and over in her head
Things past
What might have been?

Going through each day
She continues
Not really living
But still operating

Her â??friendsâ?? drift apart
From each other and her
Not ones for sympathy
But she desires none

Some notice
The absence of her voice
As she grows quiet
Withdrawn

But after a casual
â??You ok?â??
They out it off
To melodrama

No death for her
But she is unsure on life
Like a machine
She slows down to conserve

Each day an alarm brings her back to the world
She murmurs as her dreams flee her mind
She moves dully through the house
A translucent wraith flitting through life
