Life and Death

by Elizabeth   Apr 11, 2006

Death all around
It looks you up and down
Then stares you straight in the face
It makes you fear
It makes you think
How will you get your life back in place

You think about the wrong you've done
And all the ones you hurt
You said it was all just in fun
Not knowing you were digging in the dirt

Digging in the dirt to your grave
Farther and farther you go
Thinking that your big and brave
When all you are is low

As you lay there dying
You wonder in all thats worth living
You'll stop your lying
You'll stop your fibbing
If you'd just get another chance

A chance at life is all you want
So you beg and cry and plead
But the Iraq bastered just lit a blunt
And laughed at you as you bleed

Then you remember what someone once said
About Jesus and what He did
And now before your dead
You ask Him to save you and of your sins he'll rid

Before you know it, your passed out
And for a moment you think your gone
But never fear and never doubt
God has given you a new dawn

A new dawning and new day
He gave you a chance to live
It wasn't your time to go today
It was your time to give
