Vanquished Freedom

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 11, 2006

With long lists of names carved in the stone
The burial mounds of the defenders unknown
Banners were raised and standards had set
Death the unfortunate fate they met
Chains of slavery bound those once free
A dark palace grins swallowing all hope and glee
A warrior king rests in a palace of hate
Bonds of servitude and power grow great
Against evil none dared to risk the course
Now all feel the tangled strands of remorse
A spark of light comes with ways unvarious
A rogue encampment hidden in places precarious
Safe inside his only palace built by slaves
The warrior king ignores his peoples graves
The dark flag of slavery is a new era unveiled
Many will rise up to see this evil quelled
