Slither, flick, angel.

by Sean   Apr 12, 2006

Spoon fed poison, like the flicker of the tongue,
snake like love, sold hard-lined and you keep your gaze,
follow this waltz, this dance, hand in hand, toe to toe,
guided, forced, down this aisle, The aisle.

Dawn approaches, led in bed, freedom?
Hand in hand, body to body.
Blindfolded angel, feels a touch, warm...? cold,
wrapped across skin, scales scratch, bleeding purity,
she smiles, and the snake plunges.
Ignorance, is bliss, as her wings are torn.

Exhaustion, tiresome snake, feels the edge,
time for another dance? Victim Angel frowns,
as she lays, tears replacing smiles of poison,
lies? Yes, lies. Slithering now, can't fly now.

Another touch, "I'll look after you now''
feel the beat of this new dance, smiling
frowning, angel.

I love your choice of words, the way this poem is 'put-together', so to speak, is extremely effective. Short, yes, but briliant. And that's all that really matters, isn't it?
