The suicide pact

by eric   Apr 15, 2006

My bestfriend died just the other day
he wrote a book of suicide notes
explaining everything he had to say

the book was titled
"the perfect suicide"
it was a story telling us
everything and why he died

the main character was a girl
who didnt love a boy
he had such great feelings for her
her name was joy

he made copys for everyone
all of his friends
so they all knew his story
when his life would end

at the funeral
we all crowded in black
raised are heads to the sky
and prayed he'd come back

as the rain poured down
we hugged his family
as i looked around
black for miles was all you could see

everyone loved him
why did he have to go
even his bestfriends
didnt know the feelings he wouldnt show

when the funeral ended
and i went home
got into dry clothes
and went to my room alone

went into my drawer
and took out the story
of my bestfriend who was no more
and forever more i am sorry..

i read on and it talked about us all
told us how much he loved us
and said sorry for taking this fall

everday i write him a letter
not just for him
but to help me feel better

my mom came in
and started crying
i put down my pen
and stopped writing

i asked her what was wrong
she started crying more
her tears were strong
i said what are you crying for?

she fell to her knees
and said its johnny!
i said tell me please...

he just commited suicide
it was all welling up
another bestfriend of mine died

i stopped for a moment
and then i thought
remembering back the ninth grade
when mike was shot

we all got together
and made a pact
that if another
was to die we would all react

few hours later
she finally left
went to bed
but i never slept

took out a box
that said never open
it was so heavy it felt like rocks
or so i was hoping

but i knew what it was
and i never opened it because
it was for a time like this
when a bestfriend was missed

it was a promise and i cant go back
beside me was a gun
and a book i called "the suicide pact"

Oh my, this poem is just amazing.. your poetry was really felt. Letter everyday, that's kind of funny, I did that same thing when my best friend died a few years ago. Letter everyday for months and months although I knew he'd never read them. If you are writing this from personal experience then I just want you to know that your pain is felt. If you want to talk feel free to contact me anytime.
