Promise You Wont Let Me Cry

by Phoebe   Apr 15, 2006

You don't see the tears that run,
So freely from my hazel eyes,
And you will never know the pain,
I feel behind all the lies.

I cannot fly when my wings are broken,
And shattered on the floor,
Mixing with the blood and glass,
As my cravings called for more.

You're everywhere I'm going,
You're haunting my everyday,
But I don't mind your shadow upon me,
Holding my hand all the way.

Promise me you'll never let me cry,
Just hold my hands in yours and smile,
I'll be OK if you show me the beauty,
And stay happy all the while.

Repaint my crying eyes,
And remove the pain behind them,
I'll be your own doll,
If you paint a smile on my face,
Give me a new life to come home to,
To stay in forever with you.

Your heart is the only one I can call home,
And I don't want to color my bed,
With the mascara running from my crying eyes,
You're coming home tonight, in my head.

I gave you my heart and you gave me my suitcase,
But you didn't tell me to leave, or go away,
You told me to move into your heart,
And together we'd live everyday.

And now I can feel you beside me,
But I cannot feel myself.
