Lost Trust

I don't know how many times these words have gone through my mind.
How could you betray my trust, you just tore it apart,
You left it in shreds, just like my heart.
As these tears fall, I wonder... did you even care at all.
You fooled me for a while, with making me smile,
but inside I knew it was to good to be true.
You made me happy, and I began to love you.
I thought I could trust again, but I guess I was wrong.
A cold, dark place is where my heart had always belonged.
