Exploring Starved Rock

by Heather   Apr 16, 2006

The rain gently kisses my face
the wind wraps me in it's warm embrace
i sit here on a slab of stone
sit i here all alone
staring at the darkened sky
i let out a contented sigh
beauty surrounds me high and low
such amazing views never have i known
water falls from up above
such a sight who can't help but love?
descending gracefully, now to the stream
as the water flows, just watch the rocks gleam
i slowly rise and gather my things
wishing i could stay forever
and hoping that this amazing beauty will never cease, no never

A really charming poem with beautiful imagery, I can really feel myself in starved rock!

Aw, Heather this one's so good! I could so put myself right there in that place. Great imagery! I just wish nature poems got more attention than they do.
