Long days ahead

On my journey oh so long
the days seem never to end
if not for you I would be lost
Ive come to call you Lord and friend

So many trials I have faced
so many I have not
so many battles I have lost
so many yet I haven't fought

So many people seem so confident
on the outer shell
so many people are crumbled inside and are going to hell

so many times have I cried
with no good reason on hand
so many times I have kneeled
your teaching me how no longer to stand

so many times have I been proud
I have no reason at all!
I need to be brought down to size
I'm not really this tall

its time I came to realize
my pride has no foundation
I need to be demoted
back to my rightful station

God loves me eternally
thats my one consolation
to help others to know He loves them is my prayerful destination
