Power

by megan   Apr 21, 2006

Shrinking into darkness,
Wandering around this cornered space,
I think. I wait. I wonder. I hope.
I plead for the day you will finally awaken.
I know you're there. I know you're just dreaming.
You're like a beautiful swan, developing slowly into your beauty.
The star falls. The water drips. The time ticks.
And slowly your eyes blink open.

Shaking your shaggy hair away from the sea-blue eyes
you look at me, like I'm a stranger, a new face.
I stare back at you, taking you in, feeling you even without touching.
I know you feel me too but are you like my flower?
Are you wilting for my love?
Are you breaking with the softest touch?
Are you drifting with the wind?

You stand slowly, getting to your feet.
Your stature overpowers me.
I fall to the floor.
You walk gradually to where I lie, breathing heavily.
You touch my face, lifting it upwards towards you.
I crave you. My desire is overwhelming.

You stand me to my feet.
We look.
We lift our hands to that place.
The place I left you before.
My hand moulds into your skin.
It's a perfect fit.

I stand delicately like a dancer spinning on its top.
I look up toward the moon,
I close my eyes.
I wait.
You move.
You kiss
Slow. Longing. Powerful.

It lasts forever.
It spins me into heaven.
It takes me to your heart.
I feel your soul explode like a shell.
Into a million pieces.
Our love is complete.
