Watching on the Outside of the Battlefield.

by Zomi   Apr 21, 2006

I'm just looking on
And there's nothing I can do
You've put up shield just
To keep me far away.
And I can't help your pain.

You say it's for my safety
Like I need a guard, and
There's nothing I can do for you
Though you look at me as though
You expect me to save you.

And I watch you stumble
Fall down, graze your knees
Struggle back up again
Walk along and bleed, and still
You keep me far from you.

And if only you could see me
Through your cloudy shield
You'd see me, with my hands against the glass
And I'm trying to help you,
Please, my dear, let me in.

I feel so lost and helpless
Watching a loved one hurt, and darling
I'm stronger than you think, I really am,
I can save you, you wont hurt me, can't you see?
I'm strong enough to carry you now.

I guess I don't look much to you
And you want to seem alone, but, just let me
Tell you something I have learned from you
You've given me the courage, and shown me I have the strength
To change your world, now just let me in.

I'm sick of standing on the outside
I'm young, I'm small, but powerful,
And if only you would let me show you, that I can fight too
And I'll sacrifice anything for you
And I'd die for you.

But I wont watch you struggle,

anymore.
