Lying and Dying.

by Zomi   Apr 20, 2006

Standing at the cliff
She thinks of days gone by
Of how they were just torn from her
And why she wants to die

The crashing waves below her,
The early morning sky;
She thinks she wants to jump,
But she knows in her heart that's a lie.

And she closes her eyes and lifts
Her tear-stained face to the sky
And in the beauty of this moment
She starts to wonder why

The sun, it feels so warm
And the water looks so cold
And is she really ready to close this book
With her story yet untold?

She lifts a shaking hand
And wipes at her emerald green eyes
And her soft lips lift in a gentle smile
And she lifts her arms to the sky

And finally sweet laughter
Bursts forth from her chest
Why on earth would she want to go?
She wasn't ready yet

And she turns her back on the sea,
The dark that would swallow her soul
And she looks to the rising sun
And finally knows she is whole.
