I once knew a girl

by Amaya   Apr 22, 2006

I once knew a girl, who would every night
She'd go out in the dark, with in one hand a knife
As she silently screamed, pierced it right through her skin
Praying to god, it would take away the pain

But she couldn't move on
No one understood what was wrong
She wanted life to leave her alone
At the same time, for someone to bring her home

Every night she'd have another nightmare
Because she knew that he, no longer cared
Once again she'd fall, in deepest sleep
But when she woke up, it was with a scream

But she couldn't move on
No one understood what was wrong
She wanted life to leave her alone
At the same time, for someone to bring her home

I thought when I was afraid, you'd hold my hand
Help me break through, and take a stand
All you did was turn your back on me
It's obvious, you can't see

I want to move on
For you to know whats wrong
I wanted life to leave me alone
Now I just want to go home

She went out, at the darkest time of night
To end this fight, to end her life
He found her, face down and cold
Wishing only then, she would have known

I wanted to help you move on
And to find out was wrong
I know you wanted to be left alone
But now I’m here, and I can't bring you home

He held her in his arms and whispered, "I loved her . . .”
Looking back at the times they spent together
Then he kissed her ice cold lips
And laid her down to rest in peace. . .
