Childhood Memories

by Chantelle   Apr 22, 2006

Naughts and crosses
Connect the dots
Those childish games
I miss the lot

No care in the world
No worries at hand
Just playtime and fun
Building castles out of sand

So clueless to the world
And the problems we would face
Once we finally grew up
We then knew our place

We have set responsibilities
And jobs to attend
We will all suffer heartbreaks
That we hope time will mend

All our time is taken
By family, work and school
The one thing we must do
Is obey all life's rules

So much pressure
And the race against time
Is wanting to be a child again
Such a bad crime?

I miss the fun
Carelessness and joy
I want to be a kid again
Surrounded by my toys
