Perfection

by Amanda   Apr 23, 2006

You can see the bones
Melting through her skin
Glimmering cheekbones,
Skinny arms,
Dark circles, mood swings
She's too fat
Nowhere close to perfection
So she'll powder her nose
And apply her eyeliner as thick as possible
To hide her feelings
Cake on the eyeshadow and lipgloss
And she'll walk to school
Like nothing's wrong
Torn from the inside out
But she manages to hide it so well
No breakfast
Lunch skipped
Dinner lost
Her only sense of control
Is going to be her death
All for perfection
She'll never achieve
