The mind

by Arti   Apr 24, 2006

There are no limits for the mind
You can bind, hurt or kill the body,
But you only set the mind free.

The continuous river of thoughts,
The seamless ocean of dreams and wishes
Are realms only the mind traverses.

Foreign lands and alien worlds
The pen cannot describe – The mind
Sketches vividly, sketches blind.

Conquering realms unconquerable
The mind moves away from dull reality
Although tied within the bonds of the body.

Low in spirits, mindless of time?
Spur the horse of imagination
And revel in the wonders of creation.

Unleash the storm of stifled emotion,
Freely laugh, freely cry-
Let up – Let the world go by.

And the scores of unfulfilled desires-
Fulfilled some may never get-
Bog the mind down to this vicious net.

It may be right, it may be wrong
Deeds unrepentant, seeds the mind has sown
The heart sometimes refuses to accept the mind as its own.

Bound by the chains of time and life
Yet the mind attains its maturity
Death, is after all, the uncloistered mind set finally free.
