My Bleeding Heart (Monotetra)

by Simon Hayes   Apr 24, 2006

I look out of the window pane
Watch every droplet of the rain
As each one falls onto the lane
I feel my pain, I feel my pain

Soon a bright rainbow fills the sky
The sun comes out, the rain does dry
The sky goes blue like mid July
Clouds say goodbye, clouds say goodbye

But as the rain and sun do part
It always rains inside my heart
The day your love had to depart
My bleeding heart, my bleeding heart

Come back to me my swooping dove
Fly down to me from high above
I long to see a life filled of
Eternal love, Eternal love

This is one of my favourite poems ever! The absolute beauty of this was maginfied by the form, such excellent penmenship. I was completely wrapped up in it from first word to last. An outstanding piece of poetry if I've ever seen one!

I think you did a beautiful job, expecially with the words you chose for the repetition.
