The Jump

Her hands grip the cold railing
While she's leaning over, she questions
Will this solve everything?
Is this the way it's meant to be?
It doesn't matter anymore...
She's going to do it
Silently, she lets go
And a single tear rolls down her cheek
She falls towards the ocean
The wind flows around her,
Whipping up her pearly white dress
She looks like an angel
A falling angel
And with the last moments
She has left on this earth,
Her mind wanders...
So many desires
So many broken dreams
She didn't get a chance to live
The water continues to approach...
For some reason
The water looks different to her
Dark, black
Like the death sentence
She signed for herself
Here it comes...
Her feet slam into the waves
And shatter her shins
But she doesn't feel the pain
One feeling is taking over
No one knows what it is,
Not even her
The rest of her fragile body
Slips into the water
And for once in her life
She doesn't feel fear
It doesn't matter now...
It's over...
And her mind's finally at rest

*This was written a long time ago; when I was very young and had a very naive idea of suicide.
