Autumn at the Beach

by Poetical Princess   Apr 25, 2006

Leaves, breeze,
beautiful weather,
the kind of season
I want to see forever.

Seagulls make their calls,
kids play with beach balls,
in the sand it hurts to fall,
-there's broken up shells,
where hermit crabs crawl.

Find a spot I admire,
pick out shells I desire,
fly my kite made with wire,
have fun, it's required!

Little gold fish scatter
in shallow water near sand,
the sight of the setting
is what everyone would demand.

Laying on the beach,
sun creeps into the ocean,
The way the water moves,
the sound and the motion.

Tides start to rise,
what falls are my eyes.
I drift away,
as the last boats pass by.

I sent this poem to poetry.com and got an editor's choice award. Yippee =)
