Best friend?

I thought you were my best friend
I thought we were friends till the end
I thought you would always be there for me-
in rain or shine
I thought you'd be there all the time
I thought you were my real TRUE friend
I thought what we were going through would sometime mend
But I guess I was wrong
Our friendship isn't really that strong
