Who did that to her?

I'm sitting here quietly thinking
Who did that to her?
That sweet young girl
Who always wore a smile
And always tried her best
Where did she go?
Locked away behind
That black nail polish
Dark clothes and makeup
She never talks or smiles anymore
All her friends are gone
What made her change?
It was almost as if it was overnight
The music she listens to screams
And convinces her to slit her wrists
She's always writing or staring into the distance
I should ask her one day
Where she went
And when she will be back
I miss the old her
I know others do too
But try as I might
Nothing gets through
She justs shrugs and says
"I don't care. I quit that a long time ago."
I worry about her
But I just let it go
