Hold This Monster You Call Your Own

by Kevin Fitz   Apr 26, 2006

Hold This Monster You Call Your Own

Hold me now
That I may never sway
Lay my body in Your arms to stay
Until the sun can no longer rise or set
Comfort and consume me, lest I forget
Your unnecessary bloodshed
That without I would be dead
At least lacking reason to live if nothing else
Let me linger on your lips forever

God, love is hard for me
Forgiveness is even harder
When it means turning a blind eye
To the one that I hurt most

But You said the pain will cease
And my burden will be released
From my grasp
And into your hands
All will be passed from me
Because You died and set me free

Father, hold this monster You call Your own
Hold my hand and lead me home.
