Scarlet Lace

by Hayley   Apr 28, 2006

She looked in the mirror and she watched herself cry,
She slit her wrists and bled as she closed her eyes.

She promised him she wouldn't ever try to take her life,
He promised her the world but broke it with more than just a knife.

She laid on her bed as the tears streamed down her face,
She looked down at her wrists that were covered in scarlet lace.

She took out a gun that no one else knew she had,
She was hoping her condition wouldn't ever get this bad.

She thought about him and all the things that he had done,
She decides to take her life with the shot of a gun.

She picked up the phone, she needed to make one last call,
She heard his voice on the other end, and began to tell it all.

He told her not to do this, that there was another way,
But then he heard the shot of a gun, and the phone drop where she lay.

He hung up the phone as the tears filled his eyes,
And because of his mistake, his true love simply dies.

He went to her house to catch the last glimpse of her face,
But when he found her, she was covered in scarlet lace.
