Wish You Were Here

by Rachel   Apr 29, 2006

It’s been a year since I saw you,
I have my pictures in my hand.
Wishing you were here,
To walk with me through the sand.

We shared many memories,
Almost one thousand and two.
I can’t remember what you look like.
Did you have green eyes or blue?

They day you left,
It happened so soon.
The night was crisp and clear,
You could see the stars and the moon.

I knew you were driving and you knew what to do,
With the street lamps ahead and the crossroad far.
You slammed on the breaks, this part I know,
And crashed into a train’s boxcar.

It’s been a year today since you were gone.
There were many things that we had to go through.
And so I am keeping your memory alive,
By writing this rhyme for you.
