Color This Scene

by Michael   Apr 30, 2006

(verse 1)
i remember driving in the sunlight
walking in the rain
endless stream of smoke all weekend
bottles of champagne
it was just pain
(verse 2)
how i love to lie awake beside you
listening to you breathe
i can feel the love from within you
hope it never leaves
like autumn leaves
(chorus 1)
so many colors in out of life
from pink to neon green
a box of crayons or a rainbow bright
colors left unseen
color this scene
(verse 3)
i remember lying in the moonlight
on the hood of my old car
meteors and stars all around us
puffing cheap cigars
covering scars
(chorus 2)
like a child in the middle of the night
woke up by my own screams
watercolors soft and bright
to color those bad dreams
what do i color this scene?
(turnaround)
everyday i think about it and i think I'll lose my mind
but now I've got to live without it-life is color blind
color blind
(chorus 1)
