A Slave to my life

by Brook   May 1, 2006

I cant remember my mom
Though everyone says I should
I was too little though,
But I wish I could

My pa is gone,
Sold at the auction block.
Put in that wagon,
Held by that lock.

Brother works in the field,
Slashes across his back.
Not enough strength
He can only carry one sack.

Me and the other girls
Are sold around,
Whoever wants us
That is to who we are bound.

Painful it is,
But they don't seem to care
We just have to take it,
It just isnt fair.

Sold over and over again
I pray for freedom every night
No matter how much I pray though
It seems God can't make it right.
