Cross Reference

Running through the light
Jumping off cliffs taking into flight
Flying through the sky
Going oh, so high
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Try and take another leap
Start slipping and falling
Listen to it calling
Awake into a reality that is unsympathetic
Numb the pain with the anesthetic
Knock, knock, knocking on the front door
It's the thing you abhor
The oh so friendly people
Who want to take you to the steeple
Same thing every day
Don't be led astray
As God will lead you
As long as there is no adieu
Even if it's unwanted
It's like being haunted
Time and time again
Try to fight but never win
Religion is the superior being
Never guaranteeing
Always being forced
Never any remorse
Turn on the television
Watch how religion has made the incision
Into the daily lives of everyone
Look into the midnight sun
As there is no escaping
It's only reshaping
Into the same cross
Like pathetic hot sauce
They wont let you be
They have to disagree
"It's for your own good
If only you understood
The boundless pleasure
That you can treasure"
Makes you feel sick
It's all just one big trick
In the end, it doesn't exist
Gotta try and resist
The pull of society
There's a big religious variety
And yet it only seems
That one religion screams
"Look at me!
You must agree!
I'm right!
This path is bright!
If you ignore this,
You'll fall into an abyss!
If you're a homosexual,
You as good as a mule!
If you don't praise,
You'll be trapped in a thick haze!
No matter how good a person you are
Don't try to wish upon a star
It wont work
You'll just go berserk
As you burn in the fires
of your desires!"
Religion only brings temporary relief
After all, its a simple belief
Like a dream you are soaring
Then it comes without warning
Death snaps you out of it
And you have to admit
It was all just a scam
Who gives a damn
Since there is no retribution
Here's the solution
It's rather cliche
In your mind, don't let it decay
Live and let live
Learn to forgive
So what if people don't all agree
Get on with your afternoon tea
Let Buddhists be Buddhists
It's not like they're Judas
What's wrong with Muslim
It's not like they are the Reaper gone Grim
It's okay to believe or not
Let all this sail away in a thought
Just remember what this has taught
