Leave a message after the beep...

by Kitty-Kat   May 2, 2006

There's nothing but the sound of the dial tone.
The sound she's become so attached to.
Her fingers begin to punch his number automatically.
But his answering machine picks up.

Leave a message after the beep...

She hangs up and sets the phone on the pillow beside her.
If he's not picking up then he has to be doing something.
But what is he doing?
Or worse yet who?

Leave a message after the beep...

He's at a party.
Everyone's there except her.
She's still waiting for his call.
But he doesn't freaking care.

Leave a message after the beep...

He's got his ex in his lap
And the music screams that I love you
Right as she slips her tongue in his mouth
Now they're making out oblivious to the girl waiting for the call

Leave a message after the beep...

Now they're bursting into an empty bedroom
Tearing at each others clothes
To busy to worry about protection
I'll pull out in time he says

Leave a message after the beep...

After it's over he zips up his pants and walks out of the room.
He smiles at his friends who give him thumbs up for his score
He's got to hurry home he's got stuff to do
Plus he doesn't have time for commitment

Leave a message after the beep...

The sound of ringing awakes her form her sleep
As she answers the phone she hopes it's him
His voice pours out of the receiver and she heaves a sigh of relief
He wants to see her before it gets dark

Leave a message after the beep...

She rushes to the park no time to waste
The sun is beginning to set
And if she's out to late her parents will ask questions
They can't find out where she goes at night

Leave a message after the beep...

He smiles at her and slips his hands up her skirt
She doesn't care cause at least he's touching her
After a while he gets bored and says he has to go
They make plans to see each other the next day

Leave a message after beep...

He tells her to call him when she gets home.
But when she calls he ignores the phone.
He has other girls to talk to.
Her time is up.

Leave a message after the beep...

He'll tell her tomorrow that he fell asleep.
And she'll accept this excuse
Because she wants to believe someone cares about her.
But it's a lie and deep down she knows it

Leave a message after the beep...

She has to look away when his ex is all over him
He shoves her off to try and prove his loyalty
But it's all just and act.
He'll be doing her later.

Leave a message after the beep...

Now it's the night after
And it all starts again
There's just the sound of the dial tone
And leave a message after the beep...
