To My Cassie Sue:

by Ashley   May 3, 2006

This is for one of my bestest friends, Cassie Sue after her nasty breakup with her boyfriend, who then asked out one of her best friends. She still remains strong, and I just wanted her to know this:

How do you do it?
I just don't understand...
How do you pick yourself up
Without a helping hand?

How are you that strong?
I thought it would break you.
To see your guy every day
But now with someone new.

I thought it would make you crazy,
Yes, even more than before.
Because this new girl
Is a very good friend of yours.

I can't imagine
Your amount of hurt
When he treated you
So much lower than dirt.

I can't believe your strength.
I can't help but admire you.
I see this as unbelievable
This pain you have to endure.

I'm still in disbelief
That I haven't seen a tear
Or maybe you don't know
That I'm still right here.

I see you have strength,
But don't forget, you have me.
I'll be here to listen,
I'll forever be your friend, you see?

I am so proud of you,
Of how you handled this task.
You make people see no pain
Behind your pretty mask.

I see your smile and know
That it's meant to be fake.
You think your protecting us,
You're hiding for our sake.

I don't know about the others,
But hunny, unload on me.
Please, let me know,
How can I make you see?
